Edit: Nevermind. Just went through the users and nothing. Maybe this site doesn't let you make 4 letter words as usernames.

Yeah it doesn't let you use 4 letter words. asdf couldn't register as asdf.

Not sure why it doesn't just tell you straight up that it doesn't accept 4 letter words though.

You might be right christine, I tried registering just now to test things.

certain (vague) 3 or 4 letter usernames work, for example:
pko
plo
some

But others are taken, like sol, carp, asdf, dino. So I don't know ; _ ;

Yep, that appears to be the case. I pulled an obscure username off some random forumotion page and it wouldn't let me make it. Thanks for clearing it up.
